I was just reading today about how Elvis was banned from SNL for 12 years when he sang an unapproved song ("Radio Radio") on his debut appearance. The song just happened to take a jab corporate controlled broadcasting. Reportedly, Lorne Michaels spent the entire performance flipping Costello off. You can read about it here , and see that 1977 performance.

Off topic:
I've started adding the following to posts I shared to OppoBlog, just to give an "atta boy" to the author and to help raise awareness. I talked to Wout about it, and he's down. It's not necessary to do this, by any means, but I think it'd be helpful to get more people utilizing it.

I didn't have much time for it this past week or weekend (was at the track, bro), but I think it's going well. Das said he's still planning on starting to put out new Best of Oppo posts in the near future, so that should help a lot with getting exposure for OppoBlog.
